QS WUR 2026 Ranks UGM As 224th Worldwide

On June 19, 2025, the Quacquarelli Symonds rating agency announced the results of the QS World University Ranking 2026. UGM achieved the 224th rank out of 1,501 involved universities worldwide. UGM’s ranking rose 15 places from the previous year. This year’s ranking is UGM’s highest achievement in the QS WUR in the last 14 years. UGM has managed to maintain its position as one of the best universities in the world. 

UGM was able to raise the scores of all eight metrics. The Academic Reputation and Sustainability indicators ranked 1st in Indonesia. This was followed by the Intentional Research Network indicator that came in 3rd place. The Employer Reputation and Faculty Student Ratio indicators ranked 4th. In the International Student Indicator, UGM ranked 6th, while  the International Faculty and Citation Faculty indicators ranked 7th.

UGM’s academic reputation indicator improved 11 places to 134th in the world. The academic reputation indicator is the highest weighted indicator compared to others. This indicator accounts for 30% for the overall ranking. The academic reputation indicator is obtained from a survey conducted by QS and sent to academics around the world. Through various tridharma programs, UGM aspires to establish solid connections, extend its network of collaboration, and engage with many higher education stakeholders.

UGM’s Sustainability Indicator indicates a notable rise of 92 spots to position 381. The sustainability indicator is one of QS’s recent indicators. This indicator covers three categories related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), namely Environmental Impact, Social Impact, and Governance. UGM continues to grow into a Sustainable University through a green mindset by prioritizing sustainable aspects such as Environmental Impact, Social Impact, and Governance.
